24,000 Get Jobs Via BN Youth Career Carnival

A total 24,000 unemployed and university graduates secured jobs via a series of Barisan Nasional Youth Job Fair, since 10 months ago.

Barisan Nasional Youth Job Fair chairman Nazir Hussin Akhtar Husin said the carnival held for the first time in March had opened thousands of job opportunities to all, in various sectors, regardless of educational background.

“In less that 10 months, we have seen the positive results. We hope the statistic will open the eyes of all on the effort of the Barisan Nasional government to overcome unemployment especially among youths,” he said at the carnival pre launch by Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin here, Thursday.

A total 600 companies from various sectors, offering more than 30,000 jobs at various levels including for degree holders, would take part in the three-day carnival on Nov 18 at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).

Nazir Hussin said the carnival would be the last this year in the series of carnivals which were held at various locations nationwide.

“Starting in March at PWTC, the carnival was also held in Sungai Patani, Kedah, Kuantan, Pahang, Ayer Keroh, Melaka, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and Ipoh, Perak,” he said.

He said the carnival also showed a difference and improvement as compared to those organised before this with the presence of a strategic carnival partner in Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA).

“More than 30 well-known franchise firms will also take part by offering business opportunities to those interested including a loan allocation of RM50,000,” he said.

BN Youth targeted more than 400,000 visitors and hopes the carnival could solve uncertainty concerning career among youths especially in the Klang Valley.
